An assessment of renal function by neutrophil lipocalin and cystatin C in obese adolescents with or without obesity-induced hypertension
نویسندگان
چکیده
Introduction: Obesity and hypertension are associated with organ complications, including kidney diseases. It is necessary to search for the methods of early detection these complications. Aim: The aim study was assess renal function in obese adolescents, based on lipocalin-2 cystatin C levels relation creatinine, estimated glomerular filtration rate leptin levels. Materials methods: included 76 children aged 11–17 years, obesity or obesity- induced normosthenic tension headaches (control group). Renal assessed serum creatinine (Schwartz equation). Plasma urine lipocalin-2, were determined by ELISA. Results: level normal all patients, but mean significantly higher lower groups compared controls. No significant differences found plasma Mean group. We have a weak positive correlation between its negative rate, as well Conclusion: role assessment adolescents without obesity-induced ambiguous. relationship also requires further research.

Comparative Assessment of Neutrophil Gelatinase-Associated Lipocalin (NGAL) and Cystatin C as Early Biomarkers for Early Detection of Renal Failure in Patients with Hypertension
Background: Hypertension is one the most common causes of chronic kidney disease (CKD). One of the major concerns in hypertensive patients is early detection of renal disorders. In the past, serum creatinine (Scr) concentration was used as a marker of kidney function, but it proffers a late reflection of reduced glomerular filtration rate. Cystatin C and neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocal...

متن کاملCreatinine or cystatin C - which is a better index of renal function in morbid obesity?
PURPOSE The most important index of renal function is estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) which can be calculated from creatinine or cystatin C concentration in serum. There is uncertainty, which formula is best suited to assess renal function in morbidly obese patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate eGFR in patients with morbid obesity using formulas: Modification of Diet in Re...
متن کاملAssessing the Prediction Power of Plasma Neutrophil Gelatinase-Associated Lipocalin and Serum Cystatin C for Diagnosis Kidney Damage
Background & Objective: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) has been recognized as a serious public health threat. The early detection of kidney damage in CKD is a useful way to reduce the disease burden. This study aimed to determine the power of Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) and cystatin C (Cys-C) to predict the kidney damage in Iranian patients. Materials & Methods: This st...
